Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a residential care position at Olive House Children’s Home, Southwark, London. The role is a 3-month contract delivering high-quality, person‑centred support to children and young people in a safe, nurturing home environment.

You will work 10 hours per week under an umbrella arrangement, collaborating with families and external professionals to promote well‑being, independence and positive outcomes while ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people in residential care, schools, PRUs or similar settings.
• Experience supporting children with emotional, behavioral, or complex needs.
• QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Enhanced DBS required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care and support tailored to individual care plans, placement plans and risk assessments.
• Assist children and young people with daily activities, personal care, education and social development.
• Foster positive behavior and emotional well-being through consistent support and guidance.

Summary

• This is a 3-month contract position with a school or local authority, offering an umbrella rate of £24.54 per hour. The role involves delivering high-quality, person-focused care and support to children and young people in a safe and nurturing residential home. You will collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to foster positive outcomes, independence, well-being, and personal growth, while ensuring the safety and welfare of all children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care and support tailored to individual care plans, placement plans, and risk assessments.
• Assist children and young people with daily activities, personal care, education, social development, recreational activities, and independent living skills.
• Foster positive behavior and emotional well-being through consistent support and guidance.
• Encourage the development of confidence, resilience, self-esteem, and independence in young people.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children and young people in residential care, schools, pupil referral units (PRUs), supported accommodation, or other regulated care settings.
• Experience supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioral, or complex needs.
• QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Enhanced DBS required.
