Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

All staff are required to support the Home’s main Statement of Purpose, which is to encourage and enable children and young people to develop behaviourally, educationally, and emotionally, so that they can make positive contributions to their families, society, and their local communities.

The role involves delivering efficient, effective, and quality services through flexible working, working collaboratively with colleagues from all service areas and organizations to maintain a safe and secure environment that promotes the safety and welfare of children and young people, enabling them to prosper, develop, and achieve.

Staff are expected to foster, maintain, and support a restorative and solution-focused approach with children, young people, and colleagues.

The role includes providing appropriate day-to-day care to children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse, and have complex health needs or disabilities, often displaying challenging behaviours. This includes working in various settings to provide a psychologically secure and stable environment that supports their full potential.

Supporting children and young people in line with Bradford’s ‘Model of Care’ to improve outcomes and help them reach their full potential.

Experience required:

  • Experience working in challenging and changing environments, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
  • Experience working in a Children’s Home or with children and young people with emotional, behavioural, or complex health needs, either paid or voluntary, in settings like social care, schools, or youth services.
  • Experience maintaining administrative records.
  • Experience working within a team setting.

Relevant professional qualifications (used for shortlisting):

  • GCSE Grade A–C in Maths and English or equivalent or higher.
  • The minimum qualification is the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent. If not held at application, it must be completed within 2 years of starting. Failure to do so will result in removal from the post.
  • Equivalent NVQs include Level 3 Children & Young People’s Workforce Diploma with social care pathway.

Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

You must have:

  • NVQ Level 3 in childcare and education, NND, or Health and Social Care qualification.
  • Experience of direct work with children, young people, and their families.
  • Experience of collaborative and multi-agency working.
  • Experience delivering outreach and home-based support.
