Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is seeking compassionate Residential Support Workers and Resource Workers to help vulnerable children and young people thrive. Roles include residential homes and outreach, with shifts including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and some bank holidays.

Training and qualifications are provided and enhanced pay applies for sleep-ins and Sundays. Ideal candidates have Literacy and Numeracy, IT skills, and a Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to pursue.

Qualifications

• Good literacy and numeracy; basic IT skills.
• A Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willing to achieve within timeframe).
• Recent experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
• Excellent communication, listening and teamwork skills.
• Emotional resilience and empathy.
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
