Job summary

Osterna, part of RMG and Places for People Group, seeks an experienced Residential Fire Risk Assessor to cover Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. You will balance site visits with home-based report writing, typically handling up to 10 site visits per week with national travel when needed.

Essential criteria include a full UK driving licence, fire risk assessment experience in residential housing (including high rise), and NEBOSH Fire Safety and General certificates.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience undertaking fire risk assessments in the residential property sector, including high rise buildings.
• NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and NEBOSH National General Certificate.
• Experience with HSFRA and Compartmentation surveys.
• Knowledge of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and local guidance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections on residential properties such as traditional blocks, sheltered housing, HMOs and high‑rise buildings.
• Write up clear risk assessment reports for property managers and directors.
• Identify repairs or procedures needed to maintain safe common areas.
• Support safeguarding and safety compliance across sites as required.
