Job summary

Purosearch is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to cover Exeter and surrounding areas, carrying out fire risk assessments in residential properties, HMOs and blocks of flats. The role requires a Level 3 Diploma in Fire Safety, experience with FRA, and a full UK driving licence.

You will identify hazards, inspect safety measures, prepare clear FRA reports, and provide practical risk-reduction recommendations while liaising with clients and residents. Devon area experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Previous experience undertaking fire risk assessments.
• Residential property experience essential.
• Good knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance.
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: Experience with social housing, HMOs, fire doors, compartmentation and relevant British Standards.

Responsibilities

• Undertake fire risk assessments in blocks of flats, HMOs and other residential properties.
• Identify fire hazards and assess risks to residents and other relevant persons.
• Inspect fire doors, means of escape, compartmentation, fire alarms, emergency lighting and other fire safety measures.
• Produce clear, accurate and professional FRA reports.
• Provide practical recommendations to reduce fire risk.
• Liaise with clients, property managers and residents.
• Keep up to date with relevant fire safety legislation and guidance.
