Job summary

Mears Group PLC in Exeter is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team in a full-time permanent role. You will maintain, repair and install electrical systems across new build properties, supported by a company van and fuel card.

Hours: 42.5 per week (Mon–Fri, 8–5). You will work to comply with safety standards, perform reactive and planned maintenance, and contribute to refurbishments as needed. Applicants should be proactive, reliable, and committed to high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (AM2)
• City & Guilds 18th Edition or equivalent
• Full UK driving licence with a clean record
• Domestic/social housing experience preferred
• Inspection and Testing 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395) preferable

Responsibilities

• Reactive repairs to lighting circuits, sockets, fuseboards and other electrical systems
• Inspect and test installations for safety and compliance
• Replace or repair faulty components like switches, outlets, light fittings and breakers
• Work independently or in a team to meet daily repair targets
• Communicate with tenants about repairs and outcomes
• Keep work areas clean and safe after repairs
• Adhere to health and safety policies
• Provide high levels of customer care
• Respond to emergency callouts including out-of-hours where required
• Install, service, repair and maintain domestic electrical systems
• Use IT systems to manage and prioritise workload
