Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment has an opportunity for an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to support housing clients in managing landlord disrepair obligations. You will inspect properties, assess disrepair claims, and prepare concise technical reports to inform remedial works.

The role requires site visits in the Reading area, collaboration with tenants and contractors, and ensuring compliance with housing legislation and standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent) required.
• Experience as a Disrepair Surveyor or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of landlord disrepair obligations and housing legislation.
• Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct property inspections to assess disrepair issues.
• Prepare detailed reports with causes, extent of defects and remedial works.
• Manage disrepair claims in line with landlord obligations.
• Coordinate with tenants, contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with current housing regulations and standards.
• Provide technical advice on building defects and maintenance.
