Job description

Perfect role for a senior professional looking to grow their Property & Construction career in Glasgow.

Scotland's housebuilding sector is under pressure to deliver more homes, faster, without cutting corners on quality or planning compliance. This is a well-established residential developer with a growing pipeline across Glasgow and the wider west of Scotland, and it needs someone who can run live sites with authority. The business has structured processes in place, but there's genuine room to shape how projects get delivered.

Here's what you'll be doing:
  • Lead residential development projects from land acquisition through to practical completion, managing budgets, timelines and quality throughout
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors and planning consultants to keep each scheme on programme
  • Manage planning applications and liaise directly with Glasgow City Council and other local authorities
  • Appraise new sites and development opportunities, running the numbers to confirm viability before committing resources
  • Monitor construction progress on site, resolving issues before they become delays
  • Report on project performance to senior stakeholders, flagging risk early rather than after the fact
Here are the skills you'll need:
  • Several years' experience in residential development management, ideally within Property & Construction
  • Solid grasp of UK planning law and the Scottish planning system specifically
  • Confidence reading development appraisals, build cost reports and programme schedules
  • Strong stakeholder management. You'll be dealing with contractors, councils and investors in the same week
  • A degree in a relevant field (construction management, surveying or similar) or equivalent industry experience
  • The judgement to make decisions on site without waiting for sign-off on every detail
Key perks and benefits:
  • £53,000 to £79,500, with a bonus scheme attached to project performance
  • Private medical insurance and a solid pension contribution
  • Hybrid working. Site visits across Glasgow when needed, home or office for the rest
  • Generous annual leave plus flexible working arrangements
  • Clear progression path within a company that's scaling up its development pipeline
Why pursue a career in Property & Construction?

Glasgow's residential market has real momentum right now, and developers who can deliver schemes on time and on budget are in short supply. Property & Construction rewards people who can combine commercial thinking with practical, on-the-ground judgement. Few sectors offer this kind of visible impact. You can point at a finished development and say you built that.
