Reporting to: Head of Conveyancing

Are you a talented and motivated Solicitor, CILEX lawyer, or Conveyancer looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic Conveyancing Department? Our client, a reputable firm based in Dorset is seeking a dedicated professional to join their team and assist in delivering high-quality legal services while contributing to the growth of the department.

We welcome applications from both newly qualified solicitors and experienced unlicensed conveyancers with a strong background in residential property. If you’ve built up solid conveyancing experience over the years—even without formal qualification—we’d still love to hear from you.

Overall Purpose:

In this role, you will assist in managing a profitable caseload, ensuring that client needs are met with the highest standards of professionalism. You will support the Head of Conveyancing in all aspects of the department's operations and play an active role in adapting to new legislation and evolving practises.

Main Duties:

  • Deliver exceptional legal services to clients, maintaining a focus on quality and client satisfaction.
  • Apply the Solicitors Accounts Rules to all financial matters, ensuring compliance and professionalism.
  • Uphold the firm's core risk management and quality systems, including effective file management and conflict checking.
  • Maintain well-organised files that comply with Law Society standards and internal requirements.
  • draught clear, concise letters of advice, emails, and documents that accurately reflect client needs and instructions.
  • Regularly review and progress files, keeping all relevant parties informed throughout the process.
  • Seek assistance when work extends beyond your expertise and take proactive steps to manage your workload to meet targets.
  • utilise the firm's IT systems efficiently to enhance productivity.
  • Report any errors on files immediately to maintain high standards of service.
  • Supervise and review the work delegated to support staff to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and third-party contacts.
  • Participate in departmental marketing efforts to raise the profile of the firm and the Conveyancing Department.
  • Engage in networking opportunities to develop both professional and personal networks.

  • Stay current with the latest legal and practise developments through ongoing education and training.
  • Uphold client confidentiality at all times and maintain a positive demeanour with colleagues and clients alike.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to support the firm’s collective goals.
