Job summary

Risdons Solicitors in Dulverton, Somerset, is seeking a Residential Conveyancer to join our busy property team. You will manage a full caseload of residential transactions, including sales, purchases (new build), transfers of equity, shared ownership and remortgages.

The role demands strong client service, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Office-based with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor, chartered legal executive or licensed conveyancer with conveyancing experience.
• Minimum 1–3+ years PQE or equivalent in residential property law.
• Strong knowledge of conveyancing process and legislation.
• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with leasehold, new build and shared ownership transactions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of residential property transactions from instruction to completion.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice on conveyancing issues.
• Conduct title checks, prepare and review contracts, and manage exchange/completion.
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other solicitors.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, SRA regulations and CQS.
• Maintain up-to-date case records in a case management system.
• Deliver excellent client care and build professional relationships.
• Identify and mitigate risks per firm policies.
