Job summary

Hill is seeking a Contract Surveyor to manage the commercial and financial elements of residential projects in the UK. The role oversees procurement, cost reporting, cash flows and subcontractor performance to maximise value while maintaining programme alignment.

Collaboration with Technical and Production teams is essential. You will lead commercial discussions, ensure ISO9001 alignment, and mentor trainees within a supportive, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in quantity surveying or construction.
• Experience in residential development and procurement.
• Proficient in cost reporting, cost control and risk analysis.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage cash flows, cost plans and contract sum analyses.
• Procure and administer subcontractor packages, including valuations and final accounts.
• Produce monthly cost value reconciliations, forecasts and outturn summaries.
• Identify cost savings and value engineering opportunities.
• Coordinate with Technical and Production teams to resolve risks and achieve milestones.
• Lead commercial discussions with subcontractors and support client final accounts.
• Maintain proactive communication and resolve commercial queries promptly.
• Ensure subcontractor performance reviews and contracts align with ISO9001.
• Attend design and coordination meetings providing commercial input.
