Job summary

Shire Healthcare is partnering with a provider of children's services to recruit a Residential Children's Worker in Wellington, Somerset. This permanent role offers 37.5 hours per week plus sleep-ins, with a supportive team and clear progression paths.

You will support children with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties in a children's home, using a person-centred approach, and opportunities for funded training and development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience is not essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong communication with children and families.
• Commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide support using a person centred approach.
• Support the children to maintain and develop relationships with friends and family.
• Encourage the children to integrate with the local community by attending clubs or day centres.
• Support the children in all aspects of their daily living.
• Safeguard vulnerable children and report any suspicion or evidence of harm.
• Continuous commitment to professional development.
• To be willing to cover other homes when required.
• Liaise with parents and/or carers and other professionals.
