Job summary

West Sussex County Council is recruiting a Residential Childcare Worker at High Trees in Crawley to provide a nurturing, safe environment for children and young people with complex needs. You will support individual plans, routines, school attendance and developing independence, including mealtimes and family time.

The role requires Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (or commitment to complete within two years).

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent; required or achievable within two years.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and families.
• Ability to promote multi-agency support for the child.
• Ability to use initiative and work under pressure.
• Teamworking so in the best interests of the child; English literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a nurturing, positive, safe environment for children and young people.
• Support individual plans including routines, school attendance and independence.
• Facilitate mealtimes and family time; promote the child's development and achievements.
