Job summary

Tameside Council in Dukinfield is recruiting a Residential Childcare Worker to join a small, dedicated home delivering 24-hour care for a young person with complex needs. You’ll be part of a team focused on building trust, consistency, and long-term emotional growth.

The role emphasizes relationship-based care, with a flexible rota that includes day shifts, sleep-ins, weekends, and occasional night shifts. Training and support are provided to achieve the NVQ Level 3 within two years.

Responsibilities

• Provide truly individualised, relationship-based care for a young person.
• Work in a 24-hour Children’s Home setting caring for young people with complex needs.
• Participate in a flexible rota including day shifts, sleep-ins and occasional night shifts.
• Support the completion of NVQ Level 3 qualification within 2 years.
