Job summary

Tameside Council is seeking a Residential Childcare Worker to transform the life of one young person at a dedicated children’s home in Dukinfield. The role focuses on individualised, relationship-based care and outcomes for young people with complex needs.

You will join a small, dedicated team, delivering 24-hour care, including day shifts, sleep-ins, weekends, and occasional waking nights. A strong passion for helping young people is essential.

Qualifications

• passion for working with young people and helping them reach their potential.
• We encourage applications from candidates who do not hold NVQ Level 3; support to complete on starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised, relationship-based care.
• Care for young people with complex emotional/behavioural needs.
• Work as part of a team in a 24-hour children’s home.
• Participate in flexible rota including sleep-in duties, weekends, and some nights.
