Job summary

Randstad Care is recruiting for a children’s residential care role near Dunscore in Scotland. The post offers a stable 2-day-on/4-day-off pattern with sleep-ins and a competitive annual salary including sleep-in allowances.

You will support young people with daily routines, school activity, and community outings, while maintaining care records and contributing to a nurturing home environment. A full UK manual driving licence and PVG/Right-to-Work checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver round-the-clock emotional and practical support to young people in the home.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Deliver high-standard, round-the-clock emotional and practical support to young people residing in the home.
• Build strong, meaningful connections to break down barriers and provide stability during challenging moments.
• Accompany young people to school, medical appointments, and organized leisure trips in the community.
• Maintain accurate electronic care records daily to track personal progress and maintain high standards of care.
• Assist with light housekeeping and domestic tasks while residents are at school to ensure a homely living space.
• Complete intensive shift blocks involving overnight stay duties away from home.

What we need from you

• Driving Licence: A full UK manual driving licence is mandatory to transport young people to routine appointments and outdoor activities.
• Experience or Ambition: Prior experience in children's residential care, social work, or supporting younger family members is highly valued. Candidates completing relevant training or looking to transfer from adult care are fully welcomed.
• Vetting: Ability to pass an enhanced PVG check with two years of verifiable reference history.
• Right to Work: Candidates must hold existing rights to work in the UK, as employer sponsorship cannot be provided.
• Key Attributes: Excellent communication skills, patience, emotional resilience, and a proactive attitude.
