Job summary

Headway is seeking Residential Child Care Workers to join its new residential home on a casual, ad-hoc basis. The role involves supporting young people with challenging behaviours in a residential setting, requiring flexibility, resilience and commitment to high standards of childcare.

Sleep-in shifts may be required with a nightly allowance. Applicants should have QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People, strong documentation skills, and the ability to work independently within a team.

Residential Childcare Support Worker (Sessional/Casual)

Location: Badgworth

Contract: Shift Pattern- ad-hoc cover

Salary: £14.11- £14.77 (dependent on qualification) per hour plus sleep in shifts when required

We are currently looking for Residential Child Care Workers to join our new residential home on a casual basis. This amazing opportunity will also allow you flexibility to work hours you can commit to with no contractual obligation

Based in a children's residential home you will be working with young people with challenging behaviour, and you will need to be flexible, resilient, honest and well organised, as well as committed to providing a high standard of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes.

Applicants must have:

• Previous experience of working with challenging young people, preferably in a residential setting (but not essential)
• Qualified to QCF level 3 in Children and Young People
• Be capable of working on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy, maintain clear, neat records
• Have good inter-personal skills, and be a positive team player
• Computer experience to an intermediate level
• The ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements.
• Empathetic nature
• Have good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts
• The ability to engage, motivate and encourage young people
• Full manual driving license essential.
• A sleep in allowance of £46 per night as and when the business needs.
