Job summary

CareTech Community Services in Dumfries is seeking a Residential Childcare Worker to support young people, help with daily routines, and plan engaging activities. The role offers full-time hours, a paid induction, and opportunities for career development within a caring team.

Salary starts at £26,227–£26,617 with sleep-in payments of £67.50 per shift (about 10 sleeps/month), with a total OTE around £34,032. Generous bonuses and employee benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Warm, patient, a great listener and encourager, focused on outcomes for others.
• No prior experience? If you have the passion, training is provided.
• PVG check required and references for the past two years.

What You’ll Do

As a support worker, you will support young people with their daily routines, getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities. You will also:

• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping

• Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects
• Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care
• You must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately.

Annie's is a beautiful 3 bed residential home in Dumfries, which is registered to support 3 young people. We focus on activities that promote the health and wellbeing of our young people, guiding them through the next stages in their life and being a safe space.
