Description: Residential Caretaker

Due to the current postholder’s retirement, we have a rare and exciting opportunity for someone who has a desire to take personal responsibility for the caretaking service for a dedicated estate in Cambridge, focusing on maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for our residents.

The Role:
  1. Maintaining a high standard of cleaning in communal areas
  2. Recording and reporting on the standard of other services on the estate such as landscaping, window cleaning, refuse collection, etc.
  3. Carrying out daily site inspections to identify hazards or security issues, and to check that lifts or alarms are in working order
  4. Carrying out minor repairs such as changing communal light bulbs, unblocking drains and gutters, etc.
  5. Acting as a point of contact for residents on the estate
About You:

Our ideal candidate will be able to work independently for a significant part of the day. They will have previous experience of cleaning and caretaking in a large public environment, along with working knowledge of manual handling.

You should have excellent customer service skills and the ability to build effective relationships with residents. A full driving licence with Class B is required due to the nature of the position.

Details:
  • Hours: Full-time, 37 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am-3:30pm (occasional Saturdays)
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Salary: £28,624 - £31,067 per annum (City Pay Band 3), pro rata for part time
  • Location: On Site - Cambridge
