Job summary

Gold Care Homes in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a dedicated activities post holder to plan and organise activities for all residents at various times of the day. A flexible approach will be adopted to facilitate outings and events for maximum resident benefit.

The role involves supporting social, intellectual and spiritual well-being, assisting in the care of frail elderly residents and promoting residents’ aspirations through individual and group activities.

Responsibilities

• Build friendship with residents to help them adjust to life in a care home.
• Deliver a high level of personal and psychological care to residents professionally.
• Maintain communication with Manager, Senior Care Assistants, Chef and relatives for smooth operation.
• Complete records as required to a satisfactory standard and agree record keeping with the manager monthly.
• Safeguard residents' rights in line with the Home’s philosophy of care and working practices.
• Maintain client, staff and business confidentiality at all times.
• Plan daytime and evening activities.
• Coordinate the activities program with other services in the facility.
• Assess resident needs and develop activity goals for the written care plan.
• Encourage resident participation in activities and document outcomes.
• Work alone and with the team to support staff and meet home aims.
• Observe and maintain high levels of communication within staff, colleagues and residents.
• Carry out any additional duties as requested and undertake further training as appropriate.
