Job summary

Easteden is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant to support high-quality catering and dining services in our care homes. You will help prepare, present and serve meals, refreshments and drinks, ensuring nutrition, hydration and dignity for residents in a welcoming, person-centred environment.

Training in food hygiene and COSHH is available; you will work with caring teams to maintain kitchen hygiene, follow dietary requirements and support wellbeing during mealtimes.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) required.
• Willingness to participate in mandatory training and ongoing professional development.
• Experience in catering, kitchen, hospitality, care or customer service environment desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, presentation and service of meals, snacks, beverages and refreshments in line with procedures and food safety standards.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation in dining and kitchen areas.
• Assist with dietary requirements and texture-modified diets where needed.
• Support residents respectfully during meal times to promote wellbeing and dignity.
• Collaborate with catering, care and nursing teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
