Job summary

Harbour Healthcare is recruiting an Activities Coordinator for Bright Meadows Care Home in Bolton. The role involves planning and coordinating engaging activities for residents, including trips and themed events, to enhance wellbeing and social interaction.

We seek someone with dementia care experience, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to motivate residents to participate. The role is 30 hours per week, with alternate weekends, based at the Bolton site.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with residents living with dementia.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to motivate residents to participate in activities.
• Teamwork and collaboration within the Activities Team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organising and coordinating activities tailored to residents' needs and group activities.
• Book external suppliers for entertaining events.
• Organise trips in the local community, including transport and accessibility considerations.
• Contribute to planning a varied activity programme to enhance residents' quality of life.
• Maintain records of resident participation and update needs regularly.
• Maintain a portfolio of activities available within the Home and local community.
• Participate in fundraising events as required.
