Job summary

Harbour Healthcare seeks an Activities Coordinator for Bright Meadows Care Home in Bolton. The role involves organising varied activities for residents, including those with dementia, and supporting a stimulating daily programme.

You will work 30 hours per week, 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM with alternate weekends, at the Bright Meadows Care Home in Breightmet, Bolton. The role offers a supportive team environment and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• Be experienced in working with residents living with dementia.
• Have a genuine interest in our residents.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work effectively as part of the Activities Team.
• Have the ability to motivate people to participate.
• Have good organisational skills.
• Have good time management and the ability to schedule and plan ahead.
• Build self-esteem.
• Keep up to date and informed about new activities.

Responsibilities

• To assist in organising and coordinating activities tailored to individuals and groups, including themed events.
• Booking external suppliers to provide entertainment.
• Organising trips in the local community, considering transport and accessibility.
• Contribute to planning a varied activity programme to enhance residents' quality of life.
• Maintain written records of resident participation and review needs.
• Maintain a portfolio of activities available locally and in the community.
• Participate in fundraising events as required.
