SLB's Abingdon Technology Centre is a leader in reservoir simulation and engineering, developing industry-leading tools and workflows. We support the energy transition to low-carbon solutions and seek a dynamic mid-career Reservoir Engineer to join our software development team.
Job Summary:
The Reservoir Engineer (Quality Assurance) is a key technical contributor who understands model creation and its application in reservoir simulation. The successful candidate will leverage reservoir engineering expertise to validate new software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Review software requirements and contribute to improving product deliverables and documentation.
- Design and execute test strategies, plans, and suites, collaborating with development teams to ensure comprehensive testing.
- Conduct independent analyses to evaluate data quality and software performance against specifications and customer needs.
- Identify and prioritize technical issues impacting end-user experience and product quality.
- Develop automated tests to support efficient regression testing.
- Track testing progress and report results using designated systems.
- Ensure solutions meet acceptance criteria for functionality releases.
- Identify and escalate project risks proactively.
- Assist in planning and testing incremental releases.
- Provide training and technical support to engineers, R&D, field teams, and customers.
- Participate in joint case studies and propose new technical solutions aligned with company strategy.
- Support product launches with documentation, publications, and training materials.
- Participate in technical reviews and contribute to innovation activities.
- Assist in recruitment efforts as needed.
- Comply with company policies and complete safety training.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in reservoir engineering or related field.
- Experience through work placements or internships in reservoir engineering roles.
- Knowledge of Petrel technologies or reservoir simulation is advantageous.
