SLB's Abingdon Technology Centre is a leader in reservoir simulation and engineering, developing industry-leading tools and workflows. We support the energy transition to low-carbon solutions and seek a dynamic mid-career Reservoir Engineer to join our software development team.

Job Summary:

The Reservoir Engineer (Quality Assurance) is a key technical contributor who understands model creation and its application in reservoir simulation. The successful candidate will leverage reservoir engineering expertise to validate new software solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Review software requirements and contribute to improving product deliverables and documentation.
2. Design and execute test strategies, plans, and suites, collaborating with development teams to ensure comprehensive testing.
3. Conduct independent analyses to evaluate data quality and software performance against specifications and customer needs.
4. Identify and prioritize technical issues impacting end-user experience and product quality.
5. Develop automated tests to support efficient regression testing.
6. Track testing progress and report results using designated systems.
7. Ensure solutions meet acceptance criteria for functionality releases.
8. Identify and escalate project risks proactively.
9. Assist in planning and testing incremental releases.
10. Provide training and technical support to engineers, R&D, field teams, and customers.
11. Participate in joint case studies and propose new technical solutions aligned with company strategy.
12. Support product launches with documentation, publications, and training materials.
13. Participate in technical reviews and contribute to innovation activities.
14. Assist in recruitment efforts as needed.
15. Comply with company policies and complete safety training.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in reservoir engineering or related field.
• Experience through work placements or internships in reservoir engineering roles.
• Knowledge of Petrel technologies or reservoir simulation is advantageous.
