Job summary

Admiral Group in Cardiff is seeking a nearly or newly qualified Reserving Actuary to join our Reserving Team. The role offers hybrid working with flexibility to work from home and a path to deepen actuarial experience at a leading UK insurer.

Reporting to the Head of Reserving, you’ll own quarterly reserving, analyze claims data, provide insights, and help keep reserves robust. You’ll work with Finance, Claims, Risk and Audit teams and support trainee actuaries.

Qualifications

• Proven reserving experience with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Nearly or newly qualified Actuary with the IFoA or equivalent.
• Attention to detail with ability to interrogate data and challenge assumptions.
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management across internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in quarterly reserving across Motor, Household and Van, from data analysis to reporting results to Committees.
• Monitor claims performance and emerging trends with Claims teams.
• Review Solvency UK Technical Provisions and IFRS models and outputs.
• Develop and enhance reserving models, tools and processes for improvement.
• Support reserving for new and growing products across the Group.
• Ensure documentation complies with Technical Actuarial Standards.
