Job summary

Admiral Group invites applications for a Reserving Actuary in Cardiff. Hybrid working with home-based flexibility. You will own key reserving activity, contribute to projects, and help shape reserving processes within a leading UK insurer.

You will report to the Head of Reserving, work on quarterly reserving, monitor trends with Claims, and support IFRS 17 and Solvency UK provisions while coaching trainees and collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven reserving experience with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Nearly or newly qualified Actuary with the IFoA, or equivalent body.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to challenge data and assumptions.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities to deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management across internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead quarterly reserving across Motor, Household and Van from data to reporting.
• Monitor claims performance and trends with Claims teams.
• Review Solvency UK Technical Provisions and IFRS 17 models and outputs.
• Develop and enhance reserving models, tools and processes.
• Support reserving for new and growing products across the Group.
• Maintain documentation to comply with Technical Actuarial Standards.
• Share best practices and coach trainee actuaries across teams.
