Job summary

NHBC is recruiting a Reserving Actuary to assess and report reserves across a 10-year new home warranty and insurance portfolio. They will work with the Head of Reserving to provide insights that guide senior decisions and influence planning, pricing, capital modelling and reinsurance.

The role offers hybrid working between Milton Keynes and London, with a strong focus on analytical rigor, stakeholder engagement and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified actuary with several years' general insurance reserving experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead quarterly updates of Technical Provisions, including analysis and recommendations.
• Communicate reserving insights to senior stakeholders and committees.
• Support regulatory, reinsurance and business planning reporting.
• Provide reserve input into capital modelling, pricing and strategic initiatives.
• Work with Head of Reserving to plan and deliver the reserving cycle.
• Identify opportunities to improve reserving processes and drive efficiencies.
• Build relationships across the business and mentor junior team members.
