Job summary

Cambridge Enterprise in Cambridge is seeking a Commercialisation Associate on a fixed-term 10-month contract. The role supports commercialising academic ideas, assessing inventions, IP management, and exploring market opportunities to attract investment and partnerships.

You’ll work with academics, patent attorneys and commercial partners across a varied portfolio, helping researchers develop ideas with real-world impact and build expertise in technology transfer and venture creation.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in a scientific or technical discipline and/or research experience.
  • A genuine interest in technology commercialisation, IP or innovation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
  • Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills and confidence learning new systems.

West Cambridge | From £36,000 | Full-time, fixed term (10 months) | Hybrid (3 days in office)

What we’re looking for:
  • A Ph.D. in a scientific or technical discipline relevant to the Physical Sciences or engineering sector and/or research experience
