Job summary

University of Manchester is looking for a Research Technician to provide hands-on technical support for a vascular mechanisms research programme, including protein/amyloid work and lab-based experiments.

You will contribute to data generation and dissemination, assist with risk assessments and SOPs, and help maintain a well-organised, safe laboratory environment. A collaborative academic-industry setting offers valuable experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biochemistry, Cell Biology or related biological science subject.
• Laboratory experience in biochemistry or cell biology.
• Experience with cell culture or protein interaction assays.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and teamwork.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide laboratory support for protein/amyloid preparation and buffer prep.
• Support protein-protein interaction studies and SPR experiments.
• Analyze and present experimental data for reports and presentations.
• Maintain safe, efficient lab operations including stock management and housekeeping.
• Assist with inductions, equipment use, risk assessments and SOPs.
