Job summary

Google DeepMind is seeking a Share Research Scientist in London to advance embodied AI through scalable, real-world deployments. You will design experiments, prototype architectures, and push state-of-the-art methods across RL, IL, and multimodal models for robotics and perception.

You will contribute to building scalable data pipelines, collaborate with world-class researchers, and publish findings while driving impact on products and safety frameworks across global teams.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative field.
• 5 years of professional research experience in industrial R&D.
• 3 years designing, training, and scaling RL, IL, or multimodal architectures (including VLA).

Responsibilities

• Architect and train models to expand robotic capabilities and prototype concepts.
• Apply domain expertise in sim-to-real transfer, RL/IL, VLA models, and multi-sensory learning, plus model optimization (distillation, pruning, quantization).
• Propose novel ideas, address hardware requirements, and communicate results to audiences.
