Job summary

Google DeepMind in London, UK seeks a Share Research Scientist for Multisensor Robotics to advance embodied AI and scale real-world deployments. You will design and train models, prototype concepts, and push the frontier of robotics-enabled AI across multiple modalities and sensor inputs.

You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to apply sim-to-real transfer, VLA models, and multi-sensory learning while balancing research with product impact at scale.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent experience in a quantitative field.
• 5 years of industrial R&D research experience.
• 3 years designing, training, and scaling RL/IL or multimodal architectures.
• 2 years optimizing foundation models for production (distillation, pruning, quantization).

Responsibilities

• Architect and train models to expand robotic capabilities and prototype concepts.
• Apply domain expertise in sim-to-real transfer, imitation learning, Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, and multi-sensory learning (tactile, audio).
• Propose novel ideas, address hardware requirements, and communicate results to audiences.
