Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Research Portfolio Manager (Band 5) to manage a diverse portfolio of research studies and service evaluations. You will ensure compliant setup, costing, governance, and timely execution across NIHR targets.

The role requires a degree in science, research, or management and current ICH GCP; you will collaborate with researchers, sponsors, and departments to secure approvals and drive high quality research across the Trust.

Qualifications

• Degree in science, research, or management related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of NIHR systems and processes, such as model agreements and NCVR.
• Knowledge of capacity and capability processes for research and service evaluations.
• Knowledge of clinical trials regulations and governance policies.
• Proven ability to manage a changing portfolio of studies with multiple requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end setup, costing, governance and management of NIHR studies and related evaluations.
• Coordinate between researchers, sponsors, delivery teams and external bodies to ensure timely, compliant study initiation.
• Support research governance and performance metrics across NIHR and Trust targets.
• Lead planning, action plans from audits, and identify risks to meeting targets.
• Contribute to training and knowledge sharing across the RIG department.
