Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a research nurse to help deliver studies that improve NHS treatments and patient lives. You will support NIHR Portfolio studies, identify patients, recruit and follow up participants, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth study delivery.

You will manage your portfolio with a patient-focused approach and explore future opportunities. Training is provided; prior research experience is advantageous but not essential, and strong

Qualifications

  • Be a registered nurse with a degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Have effective time management and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Be able to integrate with a number of teams to achieve objectives.
  • Be conversant with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Research Governance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access etc).
  • Be willing to work flexibly in terms of hours and duties to meet service needs.
  • Be familiar with Trust CORE Values and be willing to work alongside the values.
  • Previous practical experience of clinical trials/research will be an asset but not essential, Registered Nurse.
  • Mentorship qualification/ ENB 998 or equivalent, NVQ Assessor.
  • Recognised post registration qualification within a speciality, Recent clinical experience in an acute clinical environment.
  • Experience in mentoring / facilitation / teaching / assessing / coaching, Recent clinical research experience.
  • Experience in leadership / management and specialty development.
  • Experience of Benchmarking, Excellent interpersonal skills with particular ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to make decisions, organise and prioritise.
  • Demonstrates excellent team working and motivation.
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills, Experience in leadership / management and specialty development.
  • Knowledge of Research Governance Framework (RGF), International Conference on Harmonisation/Good Clinical Practice (ICH/GCP).
  • Experience of or willingness to deal with conflict and non compliance

As a research nurse you will be responsible for delivering studies helping change NHS treatments and patients lives for the better., The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team and will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of NIHR Portfolio studies and other projects. These include all aspects of patient identification, recruitment and follow up of participants in addition to any study specific procedures. You will be responsible for managing your portfolio in a patient focus manner and growing future opportunities for studies in you specialty. A key part of the role will be to liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team across departments therefore you must possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate good attention to detail., Research experience would be advantageous but not essential, all necessary training and support will be provided.
