A great opportunity has arisen for a Research Operations Officer to join our research team in London. As a Research Operations Officer, you’ll support the charity’s ambitious 5-year strategy, where we seek to accelerate progress in respiratory research and innovation by tripling public funding for respiratory research to £150 million each year and increasing our own investment in pioneering research and innovation.
Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Research + Innovation, you will play a key role in running our grant award schemes for research + innovation, manage our research grants portfolio and ensure that we collect information to demonstrate the impact of the research we support. You will also play a key role in delivering non-grant-funding activities that will support the professional development of early career investigators who are being supported by an A+LUK research grant, helping attract, develop and retain the next generation of breakthrough lung researchers.
You will ideally have a degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience with a passion for, and understanding of, the research environment. You’ll be a competent and accurate administrator with excellent IT skills. This will be a great opportunity to develop your skills in collaborative working, communication and in patient and public involvement in research.
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), membership of a health cash plan, employee assistance programme, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan and pension scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation committed to being the driving force behind the transformation of lung health.
