Job summary

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 5 Research Nurse to support delivery of cancer clinical trials on Floor 6 CCCL. You will participate in dual training for Oncology and Haematology SACT therapies and provide high-quality, patient-centred care with data collection and monitoring per protocol.

Based at CCC Wirral and CCC Liverpool, you will travel across peripheral sites and work under supervision to ensure timely, safe trial delivery and patient support,

Qualifications

• Current level registration with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• N59 or equivalent registration.
• Degree or working towards in nursing or related field.
• ENB 237 or equivalent qualification.

The Research and Innovation department at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre has an exciting post available for a Band 5 Research Nurse.
The Primary aim of this post is to bring about greater access for research in order to provide a unique and enviable framework to enhance delivery of world class research.
The Research Nurse will embark on a programme of dual training for both Oncology and Haematology systemic anticancer treatments.
As a Research nurse you will be responsible for supporting the research teams in the delivery of SACT therapies per protocol as part of the clinical delivery team on Floor 6 CCCL, whilst ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being.
You will have a dual base location at CCC Wirral and CCC Liverpool.
Main duties of the job
The post holder under the supervision of the clinical delivery unit co-ordinator will support the delivery of commercial and non-commercial cancer clinical trials. The role will include; collecting data, supporting, treating and monitoring patients in accordance to ethically approved protocols.
The R & I directorate is a busy environment and working to deadlines with frequent interruption is the norm. Ability to work under pressure, pay close attention to detail and organise the priority of own workload is absolutely essential.Individual training will be provided to meet the needs of the post-holder.

As we deliver treatments in sector hubs and clinicsacross the Wirral and Liverpool, there will an element of cross cover required during training and once training has been completed. This will include travelling to all of our peripheral sites:
