We're looking for a proactive and hard-working Research Manager to join our fantastic Research team, part of Flutter UK & Ireland! This role will be a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering a sabbatical.

The role is available to candidates based out of our Leeds, London and Dublin offices.

Your team

The Customer Safety & Experience Research Manager will report into the Head of Research and have one experienced direct report (Senior Research Analyst).

You’ll be part of a driven, collaborative, and friendly team of 18 researchers working across Flutter UKI. We’re proud to own the majority of our research projects internally, so you’ll be hands on and sharpening your strategic research skills, all while experiencing the benefits that come from being an in-house researcher: building close relationships with stakeholders, seeing action unfold off the back of your recommendations, crafting industry knowledge and expertise, and maintaining a good work-life balance.

What you’ll do

Customer safety and trust are a complex challenge within the gambling industry and a key part of Flutter’s strategy. We want to provide the safest gambling experience and a high level of customer service; both to attract and retain customers and because it’s the right things to do.

The Research Manager will work closely with senior partners across the Safer Gambling Strategy, Customer Product and Customer Operations teams to help deliver against the strategy. This will involve supporting stakeholders to unpick sophisticated business problems and develop pointed research briefs, figuring out most appropriate research methodologies, designing and coordinating the delivery of projects, alongside the Senior Research Analyst.

As Research Manager, you will:

Work collaboratively with stakeholders to explore and translate business challenges into tangible research briefs.

Lead on or support the Senior Analyst in designing research solutions to address more complex business challenges; applying your knowledge of new and innovative research methodologies, where relevant.

Optimally prioritise the research roadmap and oversee the execution of multiple research projects concurrently, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines.

Actively supervise and synthesise insights from multiple data sources to build rich but succinct insight stories to provoke action among stakeholders.

Continuously evaluate and improve research processes, methodologies, and tools to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of deliverables.

Skills, capabilities and experience required

Strong skills in research design and knowledge of best practices.

Strong problem-solving skills, a strategic approach and the ability to see the bigger picture.

Experience collaborating with numerous partners across business functions and ability to integrate findings to make well-rounded business recommendations.

Able to build compelling stories and actionable insights from data.

Confident in project management, resource allocation and prioritisation.

Previous use of advanced statistical analysis and data interpretation tools.

Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior audiences.

Experienced people manager with a focus on coaching and skills development.

Confident communicator able to constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
