Job summary

The University of Manchester is seeking a Research Impact Officer to support development, implementation and promotion of activities to accelerate research impact within a dynamic team. You will work with researchers and professional services to embed impact across research, develop training materials, coordinate evaluation and contribute to external reporting and award nominations.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to convey complex information clearly to specialist and general audiences.
Experience in Higher Education or similar organisational environment.
Ability to meet targets, manage priorities, and adapt to shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

Contribute to development, promotion and implementation of research and innovation strategies with embedded impact activity.
Support researchers to identify potential wider benefits of their work (societal, economic, behavioural, environmental, policy).
Develop and deliver training materials, workshops and events to support researchers with research impact.
Coordinate mechanisms to record, review and evaluate impact activities, evidence and narratives for internal or external reporting or award nomination exercises.
Collaborate with academic staff and professional services to draft non-technical and institutional content to strengthen proposals.
