Job summary

University of Bradford is seeking a motivated Research Finance Officer to provide financial information and advice to grant holders. You will manage day-to-day financials for a large portfolio of research grants, prepare claims, and ensure compliance with funder requirements and university policies.

You will analyse ledger data, produce reports, and respond to stakeholder enquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Level 2 qualification e.g. GCSE – Maths and English or substantial relevant practical experience.
Knowledge of funder terms and conditions.
Ability to use Windows-based software: Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of colleagues.
Experience in working with financial systems and general ledger systems.
High standard of numeracy and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day financial management of a large portfolio of research grants and contracts.
Prepare financial claims to meet grant deadlines with supporting documentation (timesheets, invoices, receipts).
Oversee projects, interrogate nominal ledger data to analyse against budget and resolve anomalies.
Produce financial reports for grant holders and respond to stakeholder enquiries professionally.
