Job summary

Brunel University of London, at the Uxbridge Campus, invites applications for a Research Fellow in Energy Efficient Refrigeration Technologies. This fixed-term role supports the Park Royal Net Zero Food Supply Systems project, combining energy modelling, refrigeration research and collaboration with industry.

You will quantify energy demand and emissions from cold storage and distribution, develop remedies, and work with Brunel, Harper Adams University and other partners to deliver decarbonised

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent qualification in engineering or technology.
• Very good knowledge of refrigeration technologies and systems.
• Experience with thermodynamic modelling and simulation tools (TRNSYS, EnergyPlus, Aspen, CFD).

Responsibilities

• Engage with Park Royal food businesses to quantify energy demand, emissions and waste.
• Investigate refrigeration systems and propose energy-saving solutions.
• Collaborate with project partners to drive decarbonisation of food supply chains.
