Job summary

Brunel University London invites applications for a Research Fellow / Research Assistant to work on the UKRI-funded climate-resilient energy project (RENEW) within the Brunel Interdisciplinary Power Systems (BIPS) centre. The role requires a PhD in a relevant area and expertise in energy system modelling, optimisation, and related fields.

You will collaborate with Newcastle University and Imperial College London, contribute to publications, manage project tasks, and engage in high‑level research

Qualifications

• PhD in energy systems modelling or a closely related field.
• Experience in energy system modelling and optimisation.
• Strong publication record and project management experience.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Work on the RENEW project on climate-resilient heat electrification.
• Model and analyse energy systems; collaborate with Newcastle University and Imperial College London.
• Prepare reports and publications; present findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to grant-funded research activities and project coordination.
