Job summary

Cranfield University invites applications for a Research Fellow in Automated Car Modelling and Control. The role focuses on delivering advanced research in vehicle modelling and control, with hands-on work on the CONRRAD platform and its multi-sensor stack.

The successful candidate will develop a complete simulation framework, supervise MSc projects, and contribute to publications, reports, and collaboration with partners within the Advanced Vehicle Engineering Centre.

Qualifications

PhD (or near completion) in robotics or a closely related field.
Experience in postgraduate research and development environment (3+ years).
First author or joint first author on at least one publication in a reputable journal (pending publications considered).
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary research teams.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality research in automated vehicle modelling and control systems.
Develop and test automated driving functions on CONRRAD platform.
Create a complete simulation framework based on CONRRAD and multi-sensor stack.
Supervise MSc individual research projects aligned with Centre’s themes.
Contribute to project delivery, publications and technical reports; engage with academic and industrial partners.
