Job summary

Cranfield University is seeking a researcher to advance simulation, modelling and control technologies for automated cars. The postholder will develop a complete CONRRAD-based simulation framework and supervise MSc projects aligned with the Centre’s themes.

We welcome applicants with a PhD (or near completion) and strong publication records. The role involves delivering high-quality research, engaging with collaborators, and contributing to project outputs.

Qualifications

• PhD (or near completion) in robotics, electrical/electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, control engineering, automotive/aerospace engineering, or closely related field.
• At least three years of postgraduate experience in a directly relevant research and development environment.
• First author or joint first author on at least one publication in a reputable journal.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality research in automated vehicle modelling and control.
• Develop and test automated driving functions on our CONRRAD platform.
• Support research dissemination through publications and technical reports and collaborate with academic and industrial partners.
