Job Summary

We seek a Motor Mechanical Design Engineer with electric propulsion experience to design, develop, prototype, and test electrical propulsion systems for future aircraft. This role involves the full development cycle of high-power, high-performance electrical machines and drive systems, contributing to greener aviation and environmental protection.

This position requires spending at least 3 days a week in the office collaborating with the team.

Responsibilities
  • Design components and assemblies in 3D CAD and 2D drawings for electrical machines and tooling
  • Provide engineering analysis and first principles calculations
  • Support development through all product lifecycle stages
  • Participate in manufacturing process development and support workshops
  • Liaise with suppliers and partners on electric propulsion systems
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and IP development
  • Generate technical reports and presentations for reviews
  • Plan technical work and coordinate team activities
Qualifications and Skills

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in mechanical design of rotating equipment, especially electric motors for traction
  • Proficiency with CAD software (CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks, Siemens NX)
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and first principles calculations
  • Experience with GD&T, FEA analysis, and PLM tools
  • Experience supporting prototype manufacturing and assembly
  • Background in aerospace and vehicle electrification
  • Understanding of electromagnetics, thermal principles, and rotordynamics modeling
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
