Job summary

University of Surrey is seeking a Costings Officer to join the FHMS Faculty Research and Innovation Office (FRIO) at Manor Park Campus. You will support costing, budgeting and pricing for externally funded projects and help set up new research ventures.

Working closely with researchers and professional services, you will ensure timely bids, advise on funder terms, and maintain awareness of changing funding rules. A proactive, IT‑savvy candidate with strong organisational skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in budgeting, costing or pricing for research projects is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills with adaptability.
• Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to learn university IT systems.
• Ability to advise on funder terms and submission deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Costing and development of research grant applications through to the set-up of new research projects.
• Deliver essential support services to the faculty's research community.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of bids in line with internal and external deadlines.
• Advise researchers and triage queries received by the Faculty Research and Innovation Office.
