Job summary

The University of Sheffield invites applications for a part-time (0.9 FTE) two-year researcher position in the School of Geography and Planning. You will contribute to the ESRC-funded project on Planning and populism, conducting qualitative research, data analysis and dissemination of findings.

Applicants should hold a PhD in planning or a related discipline and have experience of qualitative research, including ethnographic or participatory methods.

Qualifications

• A PhD in planning or a discipline relevant to the project.
• Experience with qualitative research and analysis.
• Ability to conduct ethnographic or participatory research is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake research on planning in line with project requirements.
• Collect and analyse qualitative data from multiple sources.
• Read and review literature and contribute to scholarly outputs.
• Liaise with academics, advisers, and administrators relevant to the project.
• Attend conferences, workshops and research advisory group meetings; assist in running them.
