Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner for its Sheffield team. The role covers residential, commercial, mixed-use and regeneration projects with hybrid working and strong client engagement.

You will join a supportive consultancy, collaborate with planning professionals, and progress through professional development with exposure to high-profile projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or RTPI-accredited discipline.
• MRTPI membership or progress towards chartership.
• Experience in a planning consultancy, local authority, or developer environment.
• Strong report writing and organisational abilities.
• Proactive approach with ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage planning applications and appeals.
• Produce planning appraisals, reports and supporting documentation.
• Provide planning advice to clients throughout the development process.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultees and stakeholders.
• Support project delivery across a varied portfolio.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Job DescriptionTown Planning consultant - Sheffield (Hybrid Working) Are you an ambitious Town Planner or Senior Town Planner looking to take the next step in your career? We're working with a highly respected planning and development consultancy to recruit a talented Town Planner to join its growing Sheffield team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while benefiting from a supportive, collaborative culture and genuine career progression. As a Town Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering planning advice across a wide range of residential, commercial, mixed-use, regeneration, and strategic development projects. You'll work closely with experienced planning professionals, developers, landowners, and multidisciplinary teams to help shape successful developments from inception through to delivery. The business has built a strong reputation for providing commercially focused planning advice and prides itself on delivering high-quality outcomes for clients across both the public and private sectors.

The Role

• Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals.
• Producing planning appraisals, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Providing planning advice to clients throughout the development process.
• Liaising with local planning authorities, consultees, and key stakeholders.
• Supporting project delivery across a varied and exciting portfolio.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

About You
