Job summary

University of Glasgow invites applications for a postdoctoral or senior research position within the School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine to work on STOP-Tryp project. The role integrates quantitative epidemiology, modelling and field epidemiology across international teams in Tanzania and UK institutions.

The successful candidate will design analyses, parameterise models of AAT transmission and drug resistance, coordinate field studies, and translate data into practical

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent with strong quantitative training and independence.
  • Deep knowledge of epidemiology and veterinary epidemiology.
  • Experience with statistical modelling for epidemiology.
  • Programming skills in R, Julia and C++ for data analysis and modelling.
  • Postdoctoral experience and ability to publish in international journals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and conduct of research per project strategy.
  • Coordinate epidemiological field studies in Tanzania.
  • Document analyses, maintain records and draft reports.
  • Develop and sustain international publications and research profile.
  • Survey literature to shape research strategy and methods.
  • Present work at international conferences and seminars.
  • Assist in securing future funding from internal and external bodies.
  • Foster collaborations within the research group and with partners.
  • Lead team meetings and contribute to School activities.
  • Perform administrative tasks and support PI where needed.
  • Contribute to teaching activities as opportunities arise.
  • Stay updated with advances in the field.
