We are offering a postdoctoral research position associated with the Medical Research Council project, "Analytical Tools for FFX Studies and the Go.Data Framework," funded under the "Better Methods for Better Research" scheme.
Project Overview: An "FFX" study refers to "First Few X," where X could be "hundreds" or "thousands". It is conducted early in a new outbreak to gather essential information for its management. The project's aim is to develop computationally efficient tools for analyzing such studies, especially in resource-limited settings.
Leadership and Collaboration: The project is led by Professor Thomas House (University of Manchester), with Lorenzo Pellis (University of Manchester) and Christopher Overton (University of Liverpool and UK Health Security Agency) as co-investigators. It involves collaboration with the World Health Organization, UK Health Security Agency, and other academic partners. The post-holder will coordinate with related initiatives such as the R Epidemics Consortium, EpiVerse, and EpiRecipes to ensure software interoperability and leverage synergies.
