Role Summary

The Scientist will support the drug development team, leveraging technical expertise in analytical chemistry to support the discovery and characterization of novel drug candidates and their clinical formulations.

The Impact you will have at Metsera

Under the guidance of the Research Director, the main roles will include:

• Executing and optimizing assays to characterize Metsera's peptides and peptide formulations
• Developing novel assays to address future bioanalysis needs
• Developing quality control testing and characterization assays
• Collaborating with the Discovery and CMC Teams to address immediate peptide characterization needs
• Maintaining accurate records of experiments and studies
• Analyzing large datasets and generating research reports

Additional duties may include:

• Undertaking training and development
• Performing laboratory maintenance and cleaning to ensure smooth operations

What you bring to Metsera

• MSc degree +2 years or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields; or equivalent experience
• Wet lab experience in molecular biology with peptide or protein research background
• Experience with analytical methods for peptides or proteins
• Knowledge of biological molecule characterization techniques such as LC (RP/SEC-HPLC), DLS/SLS
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills
• Flexible and cooperative attitude
• Self-prioritization and minimal supervision
• Discretion and confidentiality awareness

Preferred:

• Experience with LCMS
• Start-up biotech experience
