Job description

The University of Nottingham seeks applications for a full-time Brewing Research Fellow to join our team at the International Centre of Brewing Science (ICBS) at Sutton Bonington Campus.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Conduct research and develop objectives and proposals for a project focused on developing a novel sustainable brewing adjunct material.
  2. Collaborate with industry partners to meet project milestones and deliverables.
Candidate Requirements
  1. Hold a PhD (or near completion) in brewing science, malting science, yeast cell biology, fermentation, or a related field.
  2. Experience in disseminating research through conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
  3. Strong knowledge of brewing and fermentation principles, with laboratory or pilot-plant research experience.
  4. Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and collaborative skills.
  5. Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
About ICBS

The ICBS is part of the School of Biosciences, recognized internationally for research and teaching excellence. Our campus features state-of-the-art facilities supporting postgraduate and postdoctoral research in brewing sciences.

Contract Details

The position is full-time (36.25 hours/week), fixed-term until 28 February 2027.

Salary

£31,637 to £46,735 per annum, depending on skills and experience, with a minimum of £35,116 for candidates with a relevant PhD. Salary progression is performance-based.
